Ludo Forrer - Chairman
Ludo was born and educated in South East England and completed his PPL during the summer break of 2000, while at university reading for a BEng in Aerospace Engineering.
On graduating he joined a Graduate Development Scheme at a major landing gear manufacturer before working as a design engineer for the same company on various regional and large civil types.
Mid-2006 he joined the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) department of Thales Avionics, South-West London. As an ILS Project Manager, he was responsible for various ILS programmes until leaving to study for his ATPL full-time in August 2008.
He joined the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) Young Members Board (YMB) in 2002 and held the role of YMB Vice-Chair in 2006 and YMB Chairman from 2007 to February 2008. He was elected as a Council member and Trustee of the RAeS in April 2008. Ludo joined the Guild in 2002 as an Associate and was elected Freeman in 2007. As a founder member of the GYM, Ludo is looking forward to helping to develop the group into a thriving and lively part of the Guild.
Having attained his Frozen ATPL via a modular route in early 2009, he currently flies a Piper Navajo on test and evaluation flights for Scimitar - part of 2Excel Aviation, based at Sywell Aerodrome.
